George Doucette

December 14, 1923 — August 29, 2013

George Doucette, 89, of Fall River, husband of Lorraine (Charest) Doucette, a retired USPS Letter Carrier and owner-operator of the former George's Spa, died Thursday, August 29, 2013 surrounded by his family. An Army veteran of WW II and Bronze Star Medal recipient, he was a member of Disabled American Veterans. He was a Life Member of the Knights of Columbus, Tiverton and member of the KOC Bowling League. He was also a St. Anne Parish Marian Medal recipient, little league baseball coach, Legion of Mary member and St. Vincent de Paul Society Past President. An avid Red Sox fan, he played baseball in local leagues and enjoyed bingo. Besides his wife of 64 years, he leaves 4 children, Celeste Pelletier and her husband Roger and Michele Snizek and her husband Steven, all of Tiverton, Mary Beth Dame and her husband Joseph of Virginia and John Doucette and his wife Tania of Fall River; grandchildren, Daniel Snizek (wife Alyssa), Jillian Snizek, Thomas and Elijah Dame, Andrew and Nicholas Doucette; a great-grandson, Zachary Snizek; a sister, Yvonne Brogan of Fall River and nieces and nephews. He was the son of the late Lawrence and Philomene (LeComte) Doucette and the brother of the late Loretta Lake. His funeral will be held Monday at 9:00 AM from the AUCLAIR FUNERAL HOME, 690 So. Main St., Fall River, with a funeral mass in St. Anne Church at 10:00 AM. Cremation to follow. Visitation, Sunday from 3:00 to 7:00 PM. LARGE PARKING AREA and BARRIER-FREE ENTRANCE at the rear of funeral home. Please omit flowers. Donations may be made to Montfort Fathers, 26 So. Saxon Ave., Bay Shore NY 11706.
