George A. Daignault

October 31, 1936 — February 3, 2015

George A. Daignault, age 78, passed away February 3, 2015 at his home in Orlando, Florida, with his wife and children at his side. For fifty-eight years, he was the beloved husband of Annette (Bienvenue) Daignault, and son of the late Hermilias and Bertha Daignault of Westport, brother of the late Rita Daignault Dube, and the late Myrtle Daignault. He had been a lifelong resident of Sanford Road, Westport, graduating from Westport High School and for fifteen years was a member of the Army National Guard. In 1985 George and Annette moved to Orlando with the younger of two daughters, following the older daughter who had moved south with her husband and child two years before. George spent his life in the trucking industry as a driver, dispatcher and manager. He worked for Merit Dress Delivery in Fall River for more than twenty years, then spent several years as a manager for Walsh Trucking in Brockton before his relocation to Florida. George became a manager of food service delivery at Walt Disney World Company, where he spent sixteen fulfilling years before retiring in 2001. The trucker's life, his past in Westport, and all things Disney were his passions, along with his love of family and a succession of pet Chinese pugs, including his last, Mei Ling, who will miss her master. In addition to his lovely wife with whom he spent nearly six decades, George is survived by his two beautiful daughters, Georgette Rocheleau (husband Al) and Annmarie Hunter, of Orlando; six grandchildren: Julie Rocheleau of Sparks, Nevada; Eric Rocheleau of Altamonte Springs, Florida, and Evan Rocheleau of Orlando; Devin Hunter, Jaden Hunter, and Aleeya Urciolo, all of Orlando; a brother-in-law, Robert Bienvenue (wife Jeanne), and three other sisters-in-law: Lucille Dumont (late husband Maurice), Claire Banville (husband Ronald) and Barbara Bienvenue (late husband Roger), as well as many nieces and nephews. Following cremation, his funeral mass will be held at Our Lady of Grace Church, 569 Sanford Road, Westport, Tuesday at 10:00 AM, followed by a brief service at the mausoleum of Notre Dame Cemetery. Guests are invited to a get-together immediately thereafter at White's of Westport, to celebrate George's life. Local funeral arrangements entrusted to AUCLAIR FUNERAL HOME.
