Genevieve "Gen" (Kulpa) Szargowicz

Genevieve "Gen" Szargowicz, 91, of Borden East Apartments, Fall River, passed away Wednesday, November 13, 2013 at Rhode Island Hospital, Providence. She was the beloved wife of the late Ludwik Szargowicz. Gen was born in Fall River, the daughter of the late Stanislaw and Aniela (Nowak) Kulpa. She resided in the city all her life. Gen leaves behind her two loving children, Andrew Szargowicz and Paula Noethlich, daughter-in-law Nancy Szargowicz, her three loving grandchildren - Emily Szargowicz (husband Aaron Gooch), Jamison and Jeremy Noethlich, and several nieces and nephews. Gen was also the sister of the late Andrew, John, Joseph and Edward Kulpa. Gen was a 1940 graduate of B.M.C. Durfee High School where she played volleyball and was active in numerous clubs. She retired from the Charlton Memorial Hospital where she worked for many years in Central Services. She loved watching her family grow, spending time with her friends at Borden East, and cheering on her beloved Boston Red Sox. Her funeral service will be held in the AUCLAIR FUNERAL HOME, 690 So. Main St., Fall River, Saturday morning at 10:00 AM. Burial, Notre Dame Cemetery. Visitation, Friday from 4:00 to 7:00 PM. LARGE PARKING AREA and BARRIER-FREE ENTRANCE at the rear of funeral home.
