Gale (Carvalho) Charest

Gale E. (Carvalho) Charest, 78, of Fall River, passed into eternal rest Wednesday, July 27, 2022.

She was the wife of the late Maurice J. Charest.

Gale was born in New Bedford, MA and was the daughter of the late Joseph Carvalho.  She was  raised as a daughter by the late Charles and Julia (Cleary) Millerick.

Before her retirement, Gale was employed by Shaw's Supermarket as a deli clerk and by Catholic Memorial Home as a nurse’s aide. She treasured spending time with her grandchildren and great-granddaughter out in her yard, liked to bake and cook, and in her younger years she loved to dance.

Gale was the mother of Tracy Souza (husband Robert) of Fall River and the late Michael J. “Mike” Charest; grandmother of  Samantha Souza and Nicholas Souza and the great-grandmother of Lilah Souza Saraiva; sister of Betty Parker and the late Louis, Thomas, William Millerick and Louise Borges and Barbara Martin.

Visitation will be Sunday, July 31, 2022 from 9:30 AM to 12:00 NOON at the Auclair Funeral Home located at 690 S. Main St., Fall River. Burial will be private.
