Gabrielle (Auclair) Garant

Gabrielle Valeda (Auclair) Garant, 82, of 500 Wilbur Ave., Somerset, formerly of Everett St., Fall River, died Thursday, December 1, 2005 at Clifton Rehabilitative Nursing Center, following a long illness. She was the wife of the late Alexander Garant who died in 1991. They married in 1960 and lost their home in the "Notre Dame Church Fire". Born, February 19, 1923 in Fall River, the daughter of the late Joseph and Alphonsine (Verville) Auclair, she moved to Pawtucket, RI with her family as a child and lived there for many years, returning to Fall River in 1960. Survivors include 2 sisters, Lugarde Baris and her husband Rene of Pawtucket and Rachel Green of Taunton and nieces and nephews including Rev. Bernard Baris, MS, Dr. Russell Auclair, Paulette Baris and Jeannine Baris. She was the sister of the late Bertrand Auclair. A funeral mass will be held Monday at 10:00 AM in Notre Dame Church, Fall River. Burial, Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours and flowers omitted.
