Frank A. Soares, Jr., a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, passed away on December 29, 2024, at the age of 83. He was the loving husband of Barbara A. (Mello) Soares of 64 years.
His career as a union carpenter allowed him to build not only structures but also lifelong memories, as he delighted in sharing tales of the various jobsites he contributed to throughout his life. His passion for the outdoors and farming was invigorated by moments spent making hay with his son, Steve. Frank served his country honorably in the United States Coast Guard, a chapter of his life he cherished and recounted with pride and fondness.
Frank was known for his timeless stories. He reveled in the company of his family and looked forward to gatherings where laughter and love echoed through the air. Frank was particularly proud of his grandchildren and great grandchildren; his great granddaughter Daphne bestowed upon him the affectionate nickname "Boppi," a title he wore with delight.
Besides his wife, Frank is survived by his daughters, Donna M. Webster and Eileen C. Santos; and his sons, Stephen A. Soares (wife Sharon), Frank M. Soares (wife Helena), and Jason W. Soares (wife Kelly). Frank is also survived by his cherished grandchildren: Marc T. Webster, Jr. (wife Lea), Nicholas R. Webster, Courtney L. Webster (husband Patrick Monaghan), Timothy R. Santos, Stephen A. Soares, II (wife Lindsay), Heather E. Soares (fiancé Cameron Emond), Kelsey L. Santos (partner Cory Henriques), Grady Soares, Griffin Soares, Milly Soares, Joshua Santos (partner Diane Gately), and Marqus Bergantim; and his great-grandchildren: Marc T. Webster, III, Ella G. Webster, Daphne M. Webster-Monaghan, Rory S. Webster-Monaghan, Phoebe L. Webster-Monaghan, Lucas C. Strojny, Brenna Santos and CJ Santos. He is also survived by his siblings, Diane Harris (late husband Bobby Joe), Antone Soares, Irene Lapointe (late husband Ted), and Charles Soares (wife Robin).
Frank was preceded in death by his parents, Frank A. Soares, Sr. and Cecile (Goulet) Soares, and his brother, Raymond Soares.
