Frank L. Corgino

U.S. Navy Veteran WWII. Elevated to the rewards of a life well spent, surrounded by loved ones, Frank L. Corgino Jr., 82, passed Saturday, April 3rd, 2010 to join his beloved wife Beverly. Born September 1, 1927, in Fall River MA, he was the son of the late Frank, Sr. and Evelyn Corgino; the Father of Lorinda and William Teixeira; proud Grandfather of Liam; and best friend to Shadow, who were so blessed to be loved by him and miss him immeasurably. Frank was the brother of Lorraine Brennan of Fall River and the deceased Angela VanStraten and Rita Simmons. Mr. Corgino served as the 1st Junior Vice Commander of the William S. Greene, Chapter 9, Disabled American Veterans in Fall River MA. He had a special interest in the Forget-Me-Not drive and took great pride in participating as a Disabled American Veteran in many local parades. Mr. Corgino was the Executive Director of the Homestead Program for Committed Youths in Yarmouth Port MA and worked for the Department of Social Services in Fall River. He was a dedicated advocate for those in need particularly for children and Disabled American Veterans. Fluent in four languages Frank loved to speak with people from other cultures and had friends everywhere he traveled. He was known for having a song to sing, words of wisdom, or a funny story to tell. Frank was always thinking of what he could do for others and helped so many. He was a generous man and a good friend. Frank never wanted to be a rich man, he only wanted to live like one and he did. Funeral services to be held at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Bristol, RI, Saturday June 5th at 10:00 AM. Calling hours at Auclair Funeral Home, 690 So.
