Francisco Herles Matos, a devoted father and cherished grandfather, passed away on November 14, 2024, in Holyoke, Massachusetts, at the age of 67. Born on October 31, 1957, in Araripina, Brazil, Francisco lived a life defined by creativity, craftsmanship, and love for his family.
Francisco proudly served in the Brazilian Army, demonstrating discipline and commitment early in his life. Later, he pursued a career as a skilled carpenter, earning great respect for his meticulous craftsmanship and unwavering dedication. His work not only showcased his exceptional talent but also left an enduring mark on everyone fortunate enough to witness his work.
Beyond his profession, Francisco was a man of many passions. He found joy and solace in writing, pouring his thoughts onto paper with heartfelt creativity. A man of deep faith, Francisco drew inspiration from the Bible, spending countless hours immersed in its teachings, which guided his life and nurtured his spiritual strength.
Francisco’s greatest pride and joy was his family. He is survived by his former wife, Edineia L. Sega Mello, his beloved sons, Daniel Sega Mattos and Helio David Sega Matos, and Helio's wife, Stefane Matos. He was a proud grandfather to Emma Leah Matos. In addition, he leaves behind several siblings in Brazil who will always hold his memory close. He was the son of the late Maria Neusa De Souza Matos and Valmir Nunes De Matos.
Francisco’s legacy is one of love, faith, and creativity. His influence and memory will continue to resonate with his family and all who had the privilege of knowing him. He will be deeply missed but forever cherished in the hearts of those who loved him.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 19, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, at the Auclair Funeral Home, located at 690 South Main St., Fall River.
