Francis E. Desmarais

Francis Desmarais, age 74, of Tiverton, Rhode Island, passed away on Thursday, August 25.  He was the son of the late Leo and Edna (Gagne) Desmarais.   Francis was a bricklayer for over forty years and was a member of the Union of Bricklayers and Allied Craftsworkers.

He is survived by his wife of thirty-nine years, Sharon (Cabral) Desmarais and his sons, Michael of Rhode Island and Marc of North Carolina.  He is also survived by his siblings, Edward Desmarais, Edna Carson, Eva Hebert, Leo Desmarais, Pauline Richard, and Roger Desmarais, many nieces and nephews and his granddaughter.   He was also the brother of the late Robert Desmarais, Raymond Desmarais, and Janet Hansen.

Francis was a talented bricklayer who completed many masonry projects for family and friends throughout the years.  He was a mentor to several family members who followed him in the bricklaying trade, and he was always ready to offer his help to anyone. His favorite pastime was to have family and friends over to spend time in his backyard by the beautiful stone fireplace which he built.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, September 7, 2022, from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M.  with a funeral service at 1:00 P.M. at the Auclair Funeral Home, 690 South Main St.Fall River.
