Florence Aline (Lavallee) Sweeney

Florence Aline (LaVallee) Sweeney, 92, of Fall River, wife of the late Francis L. Sweeney, died Thursday, May 23, 2013. She was employed by Catholic Memorial Home for many years and was past-president of Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 486, Ladies Auxiliary. She leaves 5 children, Francis J. Sweeney and his wife Connie, Michael S. Sweeney, and Robin A. Sweeney, all of Fall River, John D. Sweeney of Tiverton and Patricia A. Jansen and her husband Ernest of Lake Station, IN; grandchildren, Michael and Sean Sweeney, Stacey Thupvong and her husband Kraison, Stephen Jansen and his wife Sherry, Stephanie Purtee and her husband Marc and Amber Cabral; great-grandchildren, Stephen and Christopher Jansen, Tyler and Abigail Purtee and Amelia Aline and Klaire Thupvong; a sister, Olivette "Jean" Petrasky of So. Attleboro and nieces and nephews. She was the daughter of the late Joseph "Pete" and Annie (Dube) LaVallee and the sister of the late Doris Ribeiro, Rita Rasmus and Bernadette "Rose" Chadinha. Her funeral will be held Tuesday at 9:30 AM from the AUCLAIR FUNERAL HOME, 690 So. Main St., Fall River, with a funeral mass at St. Joseph Church at 10:30 AM. Burial, Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne. Visitation, Monday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. LARGE PARKING AREA and BARRIER-FREE ENTRANCE at the rear of funeral home. Please omit flowers.
