Firmino "Phil" Raposa, 82, of Fall River, husband of Louise L. (Charland) Raposa, entered into rest Friday, November 18, 2016.
A Navy veteran of the Korean War, he was the Fall River Tree Department foreman for many years and was also employed by Hank's Texaco, Fall River and St. Joseph School, Holbrook, MA. He was a member of the Little Rhody Pigeon Fanciers Association.
Besides his wife of 42 years, he leaves four children, Amy Freitas and her husband Johnathan of Deerfield Beach, FL, Christopher N. Raposa and his wife Melissa and Melissa A. Dias, all of Fall River and Karen Hart of North Easton, MA; grandchildren, Carissa Raposa and her fiancé William Wertelet, Bailey and Hayley Dias, Nathaniel, Aaron, Andrew, Caitlin and Olivia Raposa, Madison and Mason Cabeceiras, Sofia Freitas and Meghan and Matthew Hart. He was the father of the late Kevin A. Raposa; the grandfather of the late Julia Raposa; the son of the late Firmino and Mary (Alves) Raposa and the brother of the late Edmund Raposa.
His funeral will be held Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. from the Auclair Funeral Home, 690 So. Main St., Fall River, with a funeral mass at St. Mary Cathedral at 11:00 a.m. Interment, Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne.
Visitation, Monday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Large parking area & barrier-free entrance at the rear of funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Southcoast Center for Cancer Care, 506 Prospect St., Fall River MA 02720.
