Fatima (Moniz) Estrela

Fatima (Moniz) Estrela, 72, of Fall River, wife of Joao da Estrela, passed away Saturday, January 2, 2021.

Born in Feteiras, Ponta Delgada, Fatima and her husband moved to America in their early thirties where Fatima became a seamstress. After hours of being a seamstress she spent her spare time gardening, making delicious food, and being a great mother and grandmother. She loved talking to her friends on the phone, especially her brother Martin and cousin Ida. Fatima’s personality has always been timeless, no matter the age she was always full of fun and laughter. Her jokes were always witty and her hugs were always filled with extra love and care, without doubt. She will be missed and remembered for her fulfilling company and everlasting love.

Besides her husband of 51 years, she leaves two children, Lubelia Howell (husband Marcus) and Mike Estrella all of Fall River; two grandchildren, Juliana Howell and Tyler Estrella; three brothers, Martin, Gilbert and Joao Moniz and many nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Michelle Estrella; great-grandmother of the late Norah Grace Estrella; sister of the late Zulmira Santos and Noelia Terceiro and the daughter of the late Joao Ventura and Francelina (de Jesus) Moniz.
