Evelyn Claire (Berube) Leger, 74, of Rodman St., Fall River, widow of Leo E. Leger and daughter of the late Gerard and Beatrice (St.Amour) Berube, died peacefully at home on Monday, July 6, 2009.
A former pediatric nurse at Saint Anne's Hospital, she was a member of the Executive committee of the Kickemuit Grange, Warren, RI., held the position of Chaplain at the Newport County Pomona Grange and the position of Flora at the Nanaquaket Grange, Tiverton, RI.
She was a member of the Niagara-Maplewood Senior Center, Golden Oldies, Red Hat Society, Emblem Club and the Holy Trinity Parish Guild and Ladies Auxiliary and a former member of the Brayton Avenue School PTA.
She is survived by her son, Jeffrey M. Leger and his wife, Barbara (Augello) Leger of Franklin, MA., and was a proud grandmother of Lauren and Peter Leger. She also leaves 2 dear sisters, Jeanne Berube of West Bend, Wisconsin and Annette Wrenn of Fall River, and aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was a wonderful mother, sister, and friend and will be missed by all.
Her funeral will be held Wednesday, July 15 at 10:00 AM from the AUCLAIR FUNERAL HOME, 690 So. Main St., Fall River, with a funeral mass presided by Father David Markham at Holy Trinity Church at 11:00 AM. Entombment, Notre Dame Cemetery Mausoleum.
Visitation, Tuesday, July 14, from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. LARGE PARKING AREA and BARRIER-FREE ENTRANCE at the rear of funeral home. Flowers welcomed and donations to the American Heart Association, 20 Speen St., Framingham MA 01701 appreciated.
