Evelyn E. Delisle, 85, surrounded by her family, passed peacefully to Jesus, in her home at the Fall River Jewish Home, Robeson St., Fall River, Tuesday, July 7, 2009. Born in Fall River, the daughter of the late Edward and Alfreda (Cote) Delisle, Evelyn traveled to New York to make her career as a dance instructor in the Arthur Murray Dance Studios. She also worked in Gimbels of New York. A delightful woman, she loved people and had a bright and welcoming smile which she shared with all she came in contact with. An avid Red Sox fan, who enjoyed painting, bingo, exercise classes and frequent lunch outings to local restaurants, she was crowned the Valentine Queen of the Jewish Home her first year living there. Past-president of the Jewish Home Resident Council, she was very active in the Robeson Club (the Jewish Home's strong community charity club) which supports many local community organizations. She leaves a sister, Dorothy Marois of Fall River; a godchild, Michelle (Marois) Moniz; nieces and nephews, Andre Marois and his wife Lucia (Rodrigues) Marois, Stephen Marois, Paula (Marois) Mendoza and her husband Jerome Mendoza and Danielle (Marois) Boule and her husband Raymond Boule; great-nephews, Kyle Marois, Justin Mendoza and Hayden Boule; a great-niece, Karen Bartcsh and a great-great-niece Jayelyn Latinville. Following cremation, a memorial service will be held Monday evening at 7:30 PM in the AUCLAIR FUNERAL HOME, 690 So. Main St., Fall River. Visitation, Monday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
