Evangelos S. Giotis, age 83, of Fall River, passed away Friday, October 22,2021. He was husband of Panagio E.(Pappas)Giotis.
He was born on February 24, 1938 in Ioannina, Greece and relocated to the US in 1976. He worked for local pizzerias until 1981, when he opened his own pizzeria, New England House of Pizza, Fall River which he operated for many years with his family. He was a hard worker whose work ethic was passed on to his sons and many former employees. He enjoyed trips back to his home country, playing backgammon, fishing, spending time with his family, and participating in his grandsons’ activities when time allowed. He enjoyed his vegetable garden and was an avid New England sports fan. After retiring, he joined the parish council at his church and assisted in many annual church festivals.
Besides his wife of 57 years, he leaves two sons; Angelo Giotis (wife Celia) and their two sons, Evan and Jordan Giotis; and Sotirios E. “Sam” Giotis and his two sons Nickolas and Nathan Giotis, all of Fall River; a sister, Vagia Pasxalis of Greece and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was the son of the late Sotirios and Chrissoula (Gianoutsos) Giotis.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Auclair Funeral Home,690 So. Main St. Fall River, and on Wednesday at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, 289 No. Main St., from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM, followed by funeral services at 10:00 AM.
