Eva Y. (Tardie) Desmarais

Eva Y. (Tardie) Desmarais, 100, formerly of Assonet, widow of Edward W. "Pee-wee" Desmarais, died Saturday, February 18, 2012. Mrs. Desmarais and her late husband operated the former Desmarais Saw Mill for many years. A lover of animals, she enjoyed country living and cherished time spent with her family. She leaves three children, Ernest P. Desmarais (wife Debbie) of Newcomerstown, Ohio, Nancy A. Brightman (husband John) of Fall River, and Judith M. Joaquin (late husband Donald) of Largo, Florida; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. She was the daughter of the late Alphonse and Amanda (Lamontagne) Tardie; and the sister of the late Blanche Paradis, Alice Baker, Lucy Blanchette, Adrien Tardie, Alphonse Tardie, Marion Lavoie, Aurore Forgette, Olive Blaisdell, and Irene Phelan. Her private funeral was held Wednesday from the AUCLAIR FUNERAL HOME, Fall River, with a funeral mass in St. Bernard Church, Assonet. Burial was in Notre Dame Cemetery, Fall River.
