Ernest J. "Ernie" DeLeon, 70, of Hunter St., Fall River, died Friday, June 16, 2006 at Sarah S. Brayton Nursing Care Center. He was the husband of Dolores B. (Pacheco) DeLeon. A lifelong resident of Fall River, he was the son of the late Juan and Anita (Houle) DeLeon. An Army veteran of the Korean War, he owned and operated Ernie's Odd Jobs and was previously employed as a truck driver for G.O.D.S. Transportation, Ferreira Trucking, and Eastern Van Lines. He was a member of St. Anne Parish and a former member of the Teamsters Union. Besides his wife of 52 years, he leaves a son, Ernest P. DeLeon and his wife Karen of Fall River; 2 daughters, Pat Borges of Fall River and Deborah Ignagni and her husband Robert of Warwick, RI; a brother, Daniel DeLeon of Taunton, MA; a sister, Gloria Monger of Bridgewater, MA; 7 grandchildren, Mandy Peixoto, Edith and Thomas Kerr, Brittany and Robert Grace, Jennifer DeLeon and Abigail Ignagni; 2 great-grandsons, Brandon and Benjamin Peixoto and a nephew. He was the father of the late Steven DeLeon and the brother of the late Juan DeLeon. His funeral will be held Tuesday at 8:00 AM from the AUCLAIR FUNERAL HOME, 690 So. Main St., Fall River, with a funeral mass in St. Anne Church at 8:45 AM. Burial, Mass. National Cemetery, Bourne. Visitation, Monday 4:00 to 8:00 PM. Large parking area and barrier-free entrance to the rear of funeral home. Please omit flowers.
