Emily C. Silvia

Emily C. (Santo Christo) Silvia, 78, of 40 Alicia Circle, Tiverton, died Wednesday, November 29, 2006 at the Phillip Hulitar Inpatient Center, Providence after a short battle with cancer. She was the widow of William M. Silvia. Born in Somerset, the daughter of the late John and Ermelinda (Fernandes) Santo Christo, she lived in Tiverton for over ten years. She was employed by Raytheon in Portsmouth, RI in the submarine division. She was a member of Saint Theresa's Parish, Tiverton. Mrs. Silvia was a member of Tiverton Senior Center, the Widow and Widowers Club, the Sakonnet Club, Saint Theresa's Club and the Niagara Seniors. She was a loving and warm mother. Her survivors include 3 sons, William A. Silvia of Cumberland, RI, Stephen M. Silvia of Tiverton and Michael J. Silvia of Pawtucket, RI; 2 daughters, Pauline "Cookie" LaPorte of Bar Harbor, Maine and Elizabeth A. Fortin of Richmond, RI; 2 sisters, Lucy Morris of Tiverton and Constance "Connie" Andre of Somerset; a brother, Manuel Santo Christo of Tiverton; 5 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Joseph, Gil and John Santo Christo and Mary Silvia. Private arrangements are with the Auclair Funeral Home, 690 South Main St. Fall River, Massachusetts.
