Eleanor S. Sprague

September 16, 1965 — November 25, 2019

Eleanor S. Sprague, 54, also known as “Ellie”of Fall River, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Monday, November 25, 2019.
Ellie was the first woman employee to work for the Department of Public Works picking up trash for the city of Fall River. She was a great baseball and softball player, she played on different teams for several years. She also was a part of bowling and pool leagues. She was an avid New England sports fan as well as NASCAR. She was the President of the American Legion Woman’s Auxiliary Post 314 and a member of St. Johns’ Club for many years. Ellie always put a smile on her family and friends faces and had a heart of gold.     She always had a love for animals especially butterflies.


She leaves behind her beloved family a son, Justin Cordeiro of Fall River; a granddaughter Rylee Cordeiro,(her little butterfly) five siblings, Frank "Chip" Sprague his wife Rosalyn, Brenda Sprague and her longtime companion George Tillson, Stephanie Silvia and her husband Kenneth, Stephen Sprague and Kerry Farias and her husband Carl along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was the beloved companion of the late Johnny Ostroski and the daughter of the late Frank E. and Eleanor (Vanasse) Sprague.
A visitation will be held Thursday, December 5th from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Burial will be private.
