Edward D. Smith

Edward D. "Ted" Smith, "what people don't realize is that I am 87", of Tiverton, husband of the late Janet E. Buckley-Smith, entered into rest Sunday, May 29, 2016.

He lived and worked in England and Africa before coming to the United States. A graduate Bristol Community College and UMass Dartmouth, he was employed by the Newport Preservation Society. He was a published author, world traveler, exceptional story teller and history buff.

He was the brother of Peter Smith (wife Maureen) of Great Britain, George H. J. Smith (late wife Margaret) of Canada and the late John Smith (wife Sylvia of Great Britain) and the brother-in-law of Deborah Brillo (husband Michael) of Assonet, Robert Buckley (wife Corinne) of Cape Cod and the late Meredyth Young (husband James of Florida).

His funeral service will be held Saturday, July 2 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Luke Episcopal Church, 315 Warren St., Fall River. A luncheon to follow at the church.

Visitation and flowers omitted. Donations may be made to American Cancer Society, Speen St. Framingham MA .
