Edward F. Marciarille

July 12, 1924 — May 1, 2007

Edward F. Marciarille, 82, of 56 Dublin St., Somerset, MA, died at home surrounded by his family on Tuesday, May 1, 2007. He was the husband of Barbara A. (Buben) Marciarille. Born in Fall River, the son of the late William and Carrie (Gill) Marciarille, he resided in Fall River and in Somerset for the past 45 years. A graduate B. M. C. Durfee High School class of 1942 and attended Bryant College, graduating in 1952. A U.S Postal Service Letter carrier for 27 years retiring in 1988, he worked in Fall River and Somerset. He previously was employed as a ship fitter at Kaiser Shipyard from 1942 to 1945. He also was a substitute teacher for the Fall River Public School System. A WWII veteran of the Army, he received the Victory and American Theater Medals. He enjoyed carpentry, story telling, reading, and was an avid Red Sox fan. Besides his wife of 50 years, his survivors include 3 daughters, Cynthia Ann Spidle of Waltham, MA, Kathy Ann Marciarille of Readfield, ME, and Ann Marie Marciarille of Lafayette, CA; a brother, Raymond Marciarille of Swansea, 5 sisters, Florence Phenix, Rita Rodrigues, Carrie Vieira, and Rose Marciarille all of Fall River and Elaine Miller of Tiverton; 5 grandchildren, Barbara Spidle of Waltham, Alexis King of Greensboro, NC, Nicholas King of Farmington, ME, and Gianna Marciarille and Michael DeLong, both of Lafayette, CA; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late, William, Charles, and Joseph Marciarille. Visitation omitted. Following cremation, a memorial mass will be held on Monday, May 7th at 9 AM in St. Patrick's Church, South St., Somerset. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Somerset Citizens Scholarship Foundation, PO Box 306, Somerset, MA 02726.
