Edward A. Kerr, 63, of Shore Drive, Fall River, formerly of Somerset, husband of Patricia A. (Hurley) Kerr, died peacefully Sunday, April 29, 2012. He was surrounded by his loving family. An Honors Graduate of the Culinary Institute of America, he was Head of the Culinary Arts Department at Diman Regional Vocational High School for over 30 years and founder and administrator of the Thomas Rodrigues Memorial Scholarship Fund. An Army veteran, he served as an enlisted aid to a three star General. He was an active member of St. Patrick's Parish in Somerset and was awarded the Marian Medal by Bishop Sean O'Malley. He had served as President of the Cape Cod and Islands Chapter of the American Culinary Federation. Besides his wife of 43 years, he leaves 2 daughters, Kathleen Kerr of Smithfield, RI, and Mary Paul and her husband David of Somerset; a granddaughter, Abigail Paul; siblings, Jacqueline Kuphal of Franklin, MA and Leonard Kerr of Plainville, MA; and nieces and nephews. He was the son of the late Francis and Simone (Thibault) Kerr. His funeral will be held Thursday 8:45 AM from the AUCLAIR FUNERAL HOME, 690 So. Main St., Fall River, with a funeral mass in St. Patrick Church, Somerset, at 10:00 AM. Burial, St. Patrick Cemetery, Somerset. Visitation, Wednesday from 3:00 to 7:00 PM. LARGE PARKING AREA and BARRIER-FREE ENTRANCE at the rear of funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Thomas Rodrigues Memorial Scholarship Fund can be sent to Diman Regional Vocational Technical High School, 251 Stonehaven Road, Fall River, MA 02723 .
