Edward Hrycaj, 96, died peacefully Tuesday July 15th in Florida. Mr. Hrycaj was predeceased by his beloved wife, Geneva (Howard) Hrycaj, brothers Michael, Paul & Andrew Hrycaj and sisters Mary (Hrycaj) Lee and Ann (Hrycaj) Mull. Eddie is survived by his two loving sons and their spouses, Nicholas & Jo Ann of Rotonda West, FL and David & Celeste of Fort Myers, FL. He also leaves behind two cherished grandchildren Curtis Hrycaj and his wife Lee of North Smithfield, RI and her children Brady and Benjamin and Nicole Hrycaj and her husband Marc of Amsterdam, Netherlands and their daughter Lucy. Eddie grew up in Fall River, MA where he worked in his father's lumberyard until being drafted. Sgt. Edward Hrycaj was a veteran of WWII having served with distinction in Guadalcanal with the 101st Medical Regiment, where he earned the presidential unit citation. After the war he and Geneva settled in Swansea, MA. Eddie worked for the post office in Providence, RI for 30 years before retiring to Englewood, FL. Eddie will be laid to rest aside his wife Geneva at Mt. Hope Cemetery on Friday July 25th at 11:00. Family and friends are welcome to celebrate Eddie's life during a graveside service with military honors.
