Edward F. Gannon

Edward F. Gannon Jr of Swansea, passed away on Wednesday, May 16, 2018 at the age of 69 after battling dementia. Ed is survived by his wife of 50 years, Donna (Santos), his son Edward F Gannon III (wife Sharon) of Fall River, daughter Kimberly Gannon of Somerset (husband Steve) and son Aaron Gannon of Swansea. He was the proud and loving Poppa of five grandchildren; Chelsie Gannon, Austin Blais, Genevieve Gannon, Jason Gannon and the most beloved, the late Leanne Gannon and a great-grandchild Caysen Gonzalez. He was the son of the late Edward F Gannon and Filomena "Fannie" (Nicastro) Gannon and the brother of Sharon DiPippo, Leo Gannon, Larry Gannon, Gary Gannon and many nieces and nephews.
Ed was a LaSalle Academy (67) and Providence College (71) graduate, a commissioned officer in the US Army, Artillery Division and a Captain in the RI National Guard for more than 10 years. He was a race car owner, driver and chief mechanic whose son and grandson followed in his footsteps. He loved all NE sports teams but especially his Boston Red Sox.
