Edward "Champ" Ashook

May 9, 1925 — July 14, 2011

Edward "Champ" Ashook, 86, of North Eastern Avenue, Fall River, husband of Renee (Haddad) Ashook, died Thursday, July 14, 2011. Sharing a sense of fashion and love for style he operated, with his wife, Renee's Showcase, Pleasant St. for the past 43 years. He also operated the former Ashook's Bakery, Flint St., and was a Metropolitan Insurance Co. agent. He enjoyed traveling. Besides his wife of fifty years, he leaves, two daughters, Mona Khoury and her husband Michel of Fall River, and Jacqueline Saleh of Ashland, MA; grandchildren, Natasha and Madison Khoury and Julian and Preston Saleh; siblings, Evelyn Bshara and William Ashook; and nieces and nephews. He was the son of the late George and Elizabeth Ashook; and the brother of the late Joseph and Michael Ashook. His funeral service will be held Sunday afternoon at 5:00 PM at Calvary United Presbyterian Church, 216 Harrison St., Fall River. Visitation, at the church, prior to the service, from 4:00 to 5:00 PM. Donations to Calvary United Presbyterian Church, PO Box 4101, Fall River MA 02723 greatly appreciated. To honor his memory, Renee's Showcase will be closed Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Renee will welcome friends and relatives at her home those days and evenings.
