Eduardo Moniz

Eduardo Moniz, 73, of Fall River, husband of Maria Madalena (Costa) Moniz, entered into rest Thursday, October 8, 2015. He was employed by Pioneer Finishing and Quaker Fabrics and had played soccer for Benefica Aguia until his late twenties. Besides his wife of 48 years, he leaves five children, Regina Mathieu and her husband Daniel, Aida Boule and her husband Joseph, Daniella Chaves and her husband Altino, Gilbert Moniz and his wife Sandy and Eduardo Moniz and his wife Elizabeth, all of Fall River; grandchildren, Jorden Mathieu and his wife Zayra, Candice and Celeste Chaves, Alexander and Benjamin Boule, and Belle, Ciara, Conner and Owen Moniz; a great-grandson, Jayden Mathieu; a sister, Juvenalia Valerio of Tewksbury and many nieces and nephews that adored him. Born in Ribeira Grande, St. Michael, Azores, he was the son of the late Manuel and Maria C. (Lopes) Moniz and the brother of the late Jose Carlos Moniz and Natalia Morieta. His funeral will be held Saturday at 8:00 a.m. from the Auclair Funeral Home, 690 So. Main St., Fall River, with a funeral mass at Santo Christo Church at 9:45 a.m. Entombment, Notre Dame Cemetery Mausoleum. Visitation, Friday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Large parking area & barrier-free entrance at the rear of funeral home. Flowers welcomed or donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
