Edna (Sutherland) Barlow, a/k/a "The Cat Lady", 90, of Swansea, widow of Alexander "Tommy" Barlow, died Thursday, April 21, 2011. A lover of animals, and a Faxon Animal Rescue League volunteer, she enjoyed feeding birds and squirrels daily, and her cats continuously. Gardening, especially the planting of violets everywhere, was a favorite hobby. She leaves a daughter, Linda Barlow of Swansea; siblings, George Sutherland and Sally Morin, both of Florida and Bruce Sutherland of Swansea; nieces and nephews; and her "grandchildren", "Baby Bonnie" and "Emmett Clyde". She was the daughter of the late George and Agnes (Bryant) Sutherland; and the sister of the late Thelma Sipion, Agnes Southwick, Helen Brindle, Ida Guimond, Ethel Burns, and William and Albert Sutherland. A memorial service will be held Friday at 9:30 AM in Christ Church, Main St., Swansea. Burial, Mt. Hope Cemetery. Visitation in the AUCLAIR FUNERAL HOME, 690 So. Main St., Fall River, Thursday from 5:00 to 7:00 PM. LARGE PARKING AREA and BARRIER-FREE ENTRANCE at the rear of funeral home.
