Edmund Alexander, Jr., 87, of Orchard View Manor, Tripps Lane, Riverside, Rhode Island, died Friday, February 26, 2016. He was the husband of the late Dorothy (Cabral) Alexander. Born in Fall River, he was the son of the late Edmund C. Alexander, Sr. and Georgianna (Rapoza) Alexander. Before his retirement, he was employed as a warehouseman for Frito-Lay. Mr. Alexander served his country as an Army veteran of World War II, a Navy veteran of the Korean War and also served during peacetime in the Rhode Island National Guard as a military policeman. He was a past commander of the Disabled American Veterans and American Legion, Warren, Rhode Island. Survivors include several step-children, his siblings, William Alexander of Somerset, Elsie Zimmerman and Nancy R. Alexander, both of Fall River and nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Ernest Alexander, Helen Gonsalves and Louis Alexander. His funeral service will be held Tuesday, March 1, 2016 at 7:00 P.M. in the Auclair Funeral Home, 690 South Main St. Fall River, MA, with a visitation before the service from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Cremation to follow. His cremated remains will be buried in the Veteran's Memorial Cemetery, Exeter, Rhode Island.
