Edmond P. Tremblay, Sr.

February 15, 1925 — August 22, 2006

Edmond P. Tremblay, Sr., 81, of Somerset, died Tuesday, August 22, 2006 following a long illness. He was the husband of Pauline (Chagnon) Tremblay. Born in Fall River, the son of the late Paul and Corinna (Brabant) Tremblay, he lived in Somerset for the past 44 years. A graduate of the former Msgr. Prevost High School, Fall River and Providence College, he held positions with General Mills and the Washburn Wire Co. many years ago. An accountant and insurance and real estate broker, he established E. P. Tremblay and Sons Insurance Agency, Inc. and E. P. Tremblay and Associates, Inc. He was a Marine Corps veteran of WW II and a member of the Fr. Boehr Council, Knights of Columbus, Tiverton. Besides his wife of 55 years, survivors include 2 sons, Edmond P. Tremblay, Jr. of Swansea and Mark L. Tremblay and his wife Jennifer of Somerset; 3 daughters, Janet Misturado and her husband Horace of Somerset, Christine Sumner of South Portland, Maine and Elizabeth Bell and her husband Kevin of Hope Mills, North Carolina; 10 grandchildren, Laura, Matthew, Jason, Jessica, Kimberly, Andrew, Amanda, Michael, Samuel and Rebekah and nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Lorette Foss and Armand and Raymond Tremblay. His funeral will be held Saturday at 9:00 AM from the AUCLAIR FUNERAL HOME, 690 So. Main St., Fall River, with a funeral mass in St. Louis de France Church, Swansea at 10:00 AM. Burial, Notre Dame Cemetery. Visitation, Friday 4:00 to 8:00 PM. LARGE PARKING AREA and barrier-free entrance to the rear of funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Lung Research Program, Massachusetts General Hospital, 165 Cambridge St., Ste. 600, Boston, MA 02114 or I.M.E. Fund, St. Louis de France Parish, 56 Buffington St., Swansea MA 02777.
