Duarte M. Desousa

Duarte M. DeSousa, 76, of Fall River, husband to Filomena (Pereira) DeSousa, passed away Saturday, April 14, 2018.

He was a cloth dover at Quaker Fabrics for many years. He was a member of the Acoreana Band Club. He enjoyed playing trombone and many other instruments.

Besides his wife of 30 years, he leaves three children, Emanuel DeSousa (Ana), Fatima Dias, and Sue Carreiro (Tony) all of Fall River; nine grandchilren, Katherine Dias, Cynthia Cordeiro, Austin Dias, Abigail Dias, Casey Sousa, Bryan Sousa, Celina Sousa, Alex Carreiro and Devin Carriero; two great-grandchildren, Damian Minson and Weston Camara; and a brother, Joao Sousa of Fall River. He was the son of the late Joao and Maria DeSousa and the brother of the late Natalia Melo.

His funeral will be held Wednesday at 8:00 AM from the Auclair Funeral Home, 690 So. Main St., Fall River with a funeral mass in Santo Christo Church at 9:00 AM. Burial at Notre Dame Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Tuesday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Large parking area and barrier-free entrance at the rear of the funeral home.
