Dorothy A. (Rodrigues) Vieira

Dorothy A. (Rodrigues) Vieira, 64, of 46 Toftree Lane, Dover, New Hampshire, formerly of Fall River, beloved wife of William R. "Bill" Vieira, loving mother and grandmother, passed away Monday, August 13, 2007, after a long illness. Born in Fall River, November 6, 1942, the daughter of John Rodrigues of Fall River and the late Florence (Drabble) Rodrigues, she married, in 1961, her high school sweetheart who was in the Air Force, traveling to Okinawa, Florida and Japan, eventually settling in Dover where he retired. A 1960 graduate of B.M.C. Durfee High School, Fall River, she was employed for 20 years as a credit analyst/assistant for Liberty Mutual Insurance Co., Dover, retiring in December 1998. While overseas with her husband and children she volunteered at the base nursery caring for children of working parents. Dot also had some part time employment while traveling with her husband and family. Dot really loved her family and enjoyed the many family get-togethers where she would take photos to place in her many albums. She also loved to read, plant her many flowers and spend time with her children and grandchildren, She enjoyed occasional overnight trips to Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun and especially her trips to Florida. She enjoyed luncheons with her friends from Curves. Dot loved angels and surely is one of them now. She was a loving and caring person and her loving smile will be dearly missed by her loving husband, children, grandchildren, father, sisters and many friends. Throughout her illness, she was courageous and always had time for a smile and a kind word for everyone she met. Besides her husband of 46 years and father, she is survived by daughters, Lori-Anne Smith and her husband Ron of Barrington, NH and Debra Anne Nicolay and her husband George of Bradenton, Florida; a son, William R. Vieira, Jr. of Somersworth, NH; grandchildren, David Ayers of Dover, Tyler and Nicole Smith of Barrington, NH and Amie and Amanda Vieira of Kittery, Maine; 2 great-grandchildren, Aliya and Lamar or Kittery; sisters, Deborah Rodrigues of Fall River and Patricia Menoche and her husband Richard of Little Compton, RI; her mother-in-law Rita Vieira of Fall River and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. She was the sister of the late John Rodrigues, IV. Her funeral will be held Friday August 17, at 10:00 AM from the AUCLAIR FUNERAL HOME, 690 So. Main St., Fall River, with a funeral mass in Good Shepherd Church, Fall River at 11:00 AM. Burial, St. Patrick Cemetery, Fall River. Visitation, Wednesday from 5:00 to 8:00 PM in the TASKER FUNERAL HOME, 621 Central Ave., DOVER and Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM in the AUCLAIR FUNERAL HOME, 690 So. Main St., FALL RIVER MA.
