Dorothy (Silva) Sullivan

Dorothy "Dot" (Silva) Sullivan, 84, of Fall River, formerly of Front St., Swansea, widow of John J. Sullivan, Jr., died Friday, November 2, 2012. A homemaker, she was a member of the Women's Guilds of St. Dominic, St. John of God, St. Louis de France and St. Francis of Assisi Parishes and a member of the Red Hat Society, Classy Ladies and daughters of Isabella. She leaves seven children, Shirley Potter (Richard) of Cypress, TX, Kathy Sullivan (Jim Chisholm) of Green Harbor, MA, John J. Sullivan, III (Linda) of Fall River, Peggy DeMoranville (Lenny) of Somerset, David M. Sullivan (Lisa) of Nolanville, TX and Diane M. Sullivan and Michael J. Sullivan (Jessica) all of New Bedford; grandchildren, Stephanie, Christopher and Joshua Sullivan, Amanda Burns, Jessica, Jennifer and Matthew Levesque and Scott Potter; nine great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. She was the grandmother of the late John J. Sullivan, IV; the daughter of the late Manuel and Margaret (Carey) Silva; and the sister of the late Margaret Fraile, Mary Thoreson and Anna Alberico. Her funeral will be held Thursday at 9:00 AM from the AUCLAIR FUNERAL HOME, 690 So. Main St., Fall River, with a funeral mass in St. Francis of Assisi Church, Swansea at 10:00 AM. Burial, Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne. Visitation, Wednesday 4:00 to 8:00 PM. LARGE PARKING AREA and BARRIER-FREE ENTRANCE at the rear of funeral home.
