Dorothy C. (Deaguair) Souza

Dorothy C. (DeAguair) Souza, 86, of Fall River, beloved wife of the late Joseph Souza, Jr., entered into rest Saturday, February 7, 2015. A native of Rehoboth, she lived in Fall River most of her life and was the youngest of 11 children of the late Augustinho and Philimena (Linhares) DeAguair. A devoted homemaker for 19 years, she returned to school, graduating from the Diman Certified Nursing Assistant Program. She then worked at Saint Anne's Hospital for 22 years on the Pediatrics Ward and the ICU and ER Units. She was a member of Holy Name Parish and the former St. Louis Parish. She was the mother of Michael J. Souza (wife Roseanna) of Westport, Steven A. Souza (wife Patricia Carroll Souza) of Fall River, Joseph "Jay" Souza, III (wife Susan) of Acushnet and the late David W. Souza (wife Ann Marie O'Neil Souza of Fall River); the grandmother of Bethany Gardner and Kate, Kelly, Nicholas, Steven, Andrea, Brenna and James Souza; the step-grandmother of Kristine McCracken, George and Nicole Borges, Jessica Britto the late Jacqueline Pequita. She also leaves great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Her funeral will be held Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. from the AUCLAIR FUNERAL HOME, 690 So. Main St., Fall River, with a funeral mass at Holy Name Church at 11:00 a.m. Burial, Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne. Visitation, Wednesday morning prior to the funeral from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. LARGE PARKING AREA & BARRIER-FREE ENTRANCE at the rear of funeral home. Please omit flowers.
