Dorothy "Susie" (Souza) Ouellette

February 21, 1927 — July 8, 2006

Dorothy "Susie" (Souza) Ouellette, 79, of Holland St., Fall River, died Saturday, July 8, 2006. She was the former wife of the late Leo E. Ouellette. Born in Fall River, the daughter of the late William and Evelyn (Pearson) Souza, she lived in Fall River most of her life and in Somerset and Dighton for several years. A floor lady for Rondo Knitting for many years, she was also employed by Essex Manufacturing, was a Wiley School lunch attendant in the Fall River School Department, interacting with the children which she totally enjoyed and more recently was a greeter at the Swansea Mall Wal-Mart. Dorothy loved life and she lived hers to the fullest. She enjoyed ballroom dancing, traveling and playing cards, especially blackjack, earning the nickname "Diamond Dot". Survivors include a daughter-in-law Mary Lou Ouellette of Fall River; 2 brothers, William Souza of California and Donald "Mickey" Souza of Somerset; 2 sisters, Theresa Richards and Maureen Potvin, both of Fall River; 3 grandchildren, Tanya and Daryl Ouellette and Brenda Whitner; a great-granddaughter, Meghan Hughes and many nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Leo R. Ouellette and the sister of the late Sharon Davis. Her funeral will be held Tuesday at 9:00 AM from the AUCLAIR FUNERAL HOME, 690 So. Main St., Fall River, with a funeral mass in St. Joseph Church at 10:00 AM. Cremation to follow. Visitation, Monday 4:00 to 8:00 PM. LARGE PARKING AREA and barrier-free entrance to the rear of funeral home. Donations may be made to American Heart Assn., 20 Speen St., Framingham MA 01701.
