Dorothy (Holleran) Lavoie

August 10, 1944 — October 18, 2010

Dorothy (Holleran) Lavoie, 66, of Oak Grove Ave., Fall River, widow of Nelson Lavoie, died Monday, October 18, 2010 after a brief illness. She was the mother of Nancy Marshall (husband John) of North Dighton, Richard and Derek Lavoie, both of Fall River and Brian Lavoie of Newport; the grandmother of Jessica and John Marshall; the daughter of the late James and Doris (O'Neil) Holleran and the sister of Nancy Medeiros (husband Jim), James Holleran, Helen Gula, Phyllis Furtado (husband Manuel), Mildred Shaughnessy (husband Michael) Sheila Holleran (companion Roy Lopes) and Cheryl Mazurek (husband Louis) all of Fall River, and the late Maureen Vincent and Judith Hathaway. She also leaves many nieces and nephews. She worked for the Bristol County Agricultural Extension Program, for the Fall River School Department and Options, Inc. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and attending Calvary Temple Assembly of God services and Bible studies. She always looked for the good in people; her optimism, love and support will be missed beyond words. She loved the Patriots and Red Sox, was an avid Scrabble player and enjoyed the Harbor Terrace Reunions. Her funeral will be held Friday at 10:00 AM from the AUCLAIR FUNERAL HOME, 690 So. Main St., Fall River, with a funeral service in Calvary Temple Assembly of God at 11:00 AM. Burial, St. Patrick Cemetery. Visitation Thursday 4:00 to 8:00 PM. LARGE PARKING AREA and BARRIER-FREE ENTRANCE at the rear of funeral home.
