Donat N. "Simmy" Simard

Donat N. "Simmy" Simard, 92, of Middletown, formerly of Crawford St., Fall River, died Tuesday, May 29, 2012 at Heatherwood Nursing Center, Newport, RI. He was the husband of the late Marie "Julie" (Pavao) Simard. Born in Fall River, the son of the late Wilfrid and Elizabeth (Hebert) Simard, he lived in Fall River most of his life and in Rhode Island for the past 16 years.. He was employed by O. Cloutier and Sons Lumber Hauling for many years and was a member of the Teamsters Union. He was the brother of Anna Cloutier of Swansea, the late Alice Gagne, Eva Thiboutot, and Arthur, Wilfred, and Edward Simard; stepfather of the late John A. Pavao (wife Janet of Tiverton); step-grandfather of John Pavao of Kenosha, WI and Kristin Tardie of Tiverton; step-great-grandfather of Lia and Julia Pavao, Zachary Jones and Nicholas Tardie; beloved companion of Rita (Cloutier) McLeod of Middletown, RI; he is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Following cremation, prayers will be held, Sunday, July 1, at 11:00 a.m. in the Auclair Funeral Home, 690 So. Main Street, Fall River, MA, flowers omitted. Donations may be made to the Lisa M.
