Donald R. Cormier, 77 of Tiverton, died Tuesday, December 12, 2006 at Charlton Memorial Hospital, Fall River.
He was the husband of Loretta (Gosselin) Cormier.
Born in Fall River, the son of the late Leo and Imelda (Cayer) Cormier, he lived in Tiverton since 1962.
A teamster, he was employed by Fall River New Bedford Express Co. for 30 years, and was also employed by Schuster, Pilot and other local trucking companies, retiring in 1990 from Preston Trucking Co, Seekonk .
He was a trustee and vice president of the Teamsters Union, Local 526, now local 251, also serving as a trustee of the union's health and welfare fund.
He was a marine corps veteran of the Korean War and a member of Holy Ghost Parish since 1962.
Besides his wife of 56 years, he leaves
a son, Donald M. Cormier of North Kingstown, RI;
a brother, Leo Cormier of Oregon;
a sister, Theresa Raposa of South Dartmouth;
2 grandchildren, Donald Cormier III and Kristin A. Cormier
and several nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Gerald Cormier.
His funeral will be held Friday at 9:30 AM from the AUCLAIR FUNERAL HOME, 690 So. Main St., Fall River, with a funeral mass in St. Anne Church at 10:00 AM.
Entombment, Notre Dame Cemetery Mausoleum.
Visitation, Thursday 4:00 to 7:00 PM.
