Domingos Almeida, 71, of 204 Fourth St., Fall River, died Wednesday, January 11, 2006 at home. He was the husband of Laurinda (Oliveira) Almeida. Born in St. Michael, Azores, the son of the late Manuel and Antonia (Massa) Almeida, he lived in Fall River for the past 37 years. A retired Local 607 construction worker and member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, he was an avid fan of the Benefica soccer team and the Montreal Canadians hockey team. Besides his wife of 48 years, survivors include 4 daughters, Lucia Luz Whirly of St. Augustine, Florida and Anna Viveiros, Maria F. Almeida and M. Connie Azevedo, all of Fall River; 2 sons, Manuel A. Almeida and Domingos Almeida, Jr., both of Fall River; a brother, Serafim Almeida of Fall River; a sister, Irene Pacheco of Fall River; 7 grandchildren, Kelly Duarte, Isaac Luz, Jonathan Viveiros and Marissa, Nicholas and Alexa Almeida and Debbie McGeorge; a great-grandson, Logan Duarte and nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Manuel, David, Maria-Louisa and Maria-Dos-Anjos Almeida, Dioniza Paulino, Deolinda Correia and Maria Martins. Following cremation, a memorial service will be held Saturday at 1:30 PM in Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, North Eastern Ave., Fall River.
