Diane (Farrell) O'Neil

April 18, 1960 — January 30, 2021

Diane (Farrell) O’Neil, 60, of Fall River, passed away on Saturday, January 30, 2021. Born and raised in Fall River, Diane was the daughter of the late John M. Farrell and Dorothy R. (LaPointe) Farrell. She attended St. Jean Baptiste and Bishop Gerard. Diane was married to the love of her life, the late William F. O'Neil, III for 33 years. Together they created a close-knit family and raised 4 daughters, Jessica Carvalho (husband Kenny), Kathryn Gaspar (husband Carlos), Erin de Leon (husband Jeff), and Carolyn O'Neil, whom she leaves behind.

She was the sister of the late John Farrell, Jr. (wife Ellen), Judith Souza, Ted Farrell (wife Jeri), the late Thomas Farrell, Kevin Farrell (fiancée Lisa), and the daughter-in-law of William F. O’Neil, Jr., FRPD, Ret., and the late Barbara (Callahan) O’Neil.
She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Diane was employed by Catholic Memorial Home as a nurse’s aide for many years. However, the positions she will be remembered for most are a wife, mother, and grandmother.

Diane was devoted to her family. She loved spending time with her daughters who would ultimately become her best friends. She later cherished her role as a grandmother to Logan and Brady Gaspar, Zachary and Olivia Carvalho, and Khloe O'Brien, whom she loved with all her heart. Diane’s grandchildren absolutely adored her as well.

She was kind, loving, and consistently made her family laugh with her wonderful sense of humor. Diane was very outgoing, compassionate, and friendly. She was the most selfless and thoughtful person anyone could meet. She tended to make friends wherever she would go. Diane was, as many would testify, a fighter whose strength was unmatched. You will be forever missed, Diane. “Jesus bless and protect you.”
