Deacon Thomas F. Prevost, 82, of Pershing Ave., Swansea, died Sunday, March 25, 2007 at Charlton Memorial Hospital.
He was the husband of Evelyn T. (Rapoza) Prevost.
Born in Fall River, the son of the late Frank and Antoinette (Hamel) Prevost, he lived in Swansea for over 50 years.
A Navy veteran of WW II, he served aboard the USS Nields (DD 616) and was a member of the American Legion and Disabled American Veterans.
A graduate of the former Msgr. Prevost High School, he was a property manager for Gingras Properties, Fall River many years ago and owned and operated Central Aluminum, Taunton for many years.
He studied finance, management, real estate and taxation at Bentley College, business administration and management at UMass, Dartmouth and certified real estate management at Rhode Island Jr. College.
He was ordained a permanent deacon and assigned to St. Michael's Parish by Bishop Daniel A. Cronin, November 6, 1982 at the Cathedral of St. Mary of the Assumption.
He was a member of the Moses Michael Hays Lodge of Masons, a life member of Post 2045, Veterans of Foreign Wars and a member of the Disabled American Veterans Commanders Club and American Legion, Post 303.

Besides his wife of 59 years, he is survived by
3 daughters, Diane Prevost-Read of Swansea, Pauline Daunis and her husband Paul, and Jocelyn Atwater and her husband James, all of South Dennis;
3 sons, Thomas F. Prevost, Jr. and his wife Janie of Southwick, MA, Joseph M. Prevost of Swansea and Normand Prevost of Hyannis;
a sister, Georgette Asselin of Fall River
and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Lillian Holland, Jane Fournier and Roland, Leonidas "Shorty", Normand and Leo Prevost.
His funeral mass will be held Thursday at 11:00 AM in St. Francis of Assisi Church, 530 Gardner's Neck Rd., Swansea. Bishop George W. Coleman, Principal Celebrant.
Entombment, Notre Dame Cemetery Mausoleum.
Visitation Tuesday in the AUCLAIR FUNERAL HOME, 690 So. Main St., Fall River from 4:00 to 8:00 PM and Wednesday in St. Francis of Assisi Church from 4:00 to 8:00 PM.
LARGE PARKING AREA and barrier-free entrance at the rear of funeral home.
