David A. Remy, 55, of Fall River, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, May 4, 2024, at Yale New Haven Hospital, after a brief illness. He was the beloved husband of Susan (Souza) Remy. Together they spent 31 years raising a family.
David was an experienced boiler operator for Insituform where he considered his crew as family members. Prior to that he worked as a truck driver for over 20 years.
David was passionate about 3 things: family, friends and fishing. He loved to take his family and friends out fishing for the day on his boat; but you had better have your sea legs, because if he was going out, it was for the entire day. He was also an avid Bruins fan. He was a compassionate and generous person. He never thought twice about helping someone and was always there for his family and friends. He was one of the most personable people you could ever meet. His nieces, nephews, children, and grandchildren all loved spending time with him because they knew that time would be filled with laughter and love, and sometimes a bit of mischief, especially during family camping trips.
In addition to his wife, David is survived by his daughter, Katelyn Langton and her husband Ian of Swansea, MA, and his son, Joshua Bosse and his wife Kristen of Fall River, MA. He is also survived by his mother, Elizabeth “Betty” (Auclair) Cookson and her husband Richard Cookson of Tiverton, RI; his father, Andre “Andy” Remy of Daytona, FL; his sister, Rachel Remy of Daytona, FL; his brother Derrick Remy of Warwick, RI; stepsiblings, Laurie Peckham (husband Shawn) of Assonet, MA; Deborah Nickerson (husband Rudy) of Assonet, MA; Rick Cookson (wife Suzanne) of New Bedford, MA; his mother-in-law Maria Louise Souza of Westport, MA. David will be remembered by his four grandchildren, Jack, Cal, Leo and Alice Bosse and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and in-laws.
A visitation will be held Saturday, May 11 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Auclair Funeral Home, 690 South Main St. Fall River. A celebration of Dave’s life will follow in the funeral home at 11:00 AM.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in David’s name to a charity of your choice.
