David Ploude, Jr.

October 25, 1984 — September 18, 2023

David Ploude, Jr., 38, of Fall River, passed away on Monday, September 18, 2023. He was the son of David Ploude, Sr. of Swansea, and the late Mary L. Burke of Fall River.

Born in Fall River, Dave was a Local 7 Ironworker who dedicated his life to the art of ironwork. Dave’s work was more than just a job; it was his passion, and he approached every task with bravery and perseverance.

Beyond his work, Dave was a devoted father. His love for his sons, Owen and Ryan, knew no bounds. He was the kind of dad who would get down on the floor and play, his eyes lighting up with joy as he shared in their adventures. His children were his greatest treasures, and he leaves behind a legacy of love and support.

Preceding him in death were his beloved mother, Mary L. Burke, his grandmother Louise M. (Ferry) Burke, his grandparents, Napoleon and Alice Ploude, as well as his uncle Albert Ploude.

In addition to his two sons, whom he shared with Bethany Botelho of Somerset, Dave is survived by his grandfather Ronald J. “Red” Burke of Westport and his siblings Kevin Ploude of New Bedford and Kaitelyn Ploude of Swansea. His memory will live on through his nieces and nephews: Dylan, Evin, Madison, Aryana, and Riley. He also leaves behind an extended family of
aunts, uncles, and cousins who will deeply miss his presence.

In keeping with Dave's wishes, there will be no formal funeral or memorial service.  Instead, a graveside service will be held at Oak Grove Cemetery, Prospect St. Fall River, Tuesday, October 3, at 11:00 AM.

Relatives and friends are invited.

For those who wish to honor Dave's memory, the family kindly requests contributions be made to his children’s college fund, c/o Bethany Botelho.
