David S. Hackett, 61, of New Boston Rd., Fall River, husband of Janice (Paul) Hackett and son of the late Paul F. and Mary M. (Kenny) Hackett, died Thursday, September 13, 2007. A graduate of B.M.C. Durfee High School, Class of 1964, he earned an Associates Degree in Criminal Justice from Bristol Community College and was employed by the Fall River School Department as a custodian at the Green School for 14 years. A 4 year veteran of the United States Air Force, serving a tour of duty in Viet Nam, he was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and a former member of the Fall River Clover Club and the Irish Heritage Association. He enjoyed reading, chess and sports. Besides his wife of 15 years, he leaves, sons, Michael Hackett and his wife Sara of Providence and Greg Hackett of San Francisco, CA; stepchildren, Jennifer Vincent of Somerset, Jeffrey Flanagan of Everett and Julie Gazard of Middleboro and grandchildren, Rozlynd, Anzio, Jeffrey, Courtney, Kevin, Matthew and Alexander. He was the brother of the late Paul Hackett and the late Barbara Hurley. His funeral will be held Monday at 8:00 AM from the AUCLAIR FUNERAL HOME, 690 So. Main St., Fall River, with a funeral mass in Holy Name Church at 9:00 AM. Burial, St. Patrick Cemetery. Visitation, Sunday 4:00 to 8:00 PM.
