Daniel P. Viveiros

Daniel P. Viveiros, 80, of Tiverton RI, passed away on June 18, 2011 at Charlton Memorial Hospital. Born in Bretenha, St. Michaels, Azores, he was the loving and devoted husband of Theresa (Levesque) Viveiros with whom he celebrated 58 years of marriage on June 13. He was the son of the late Daniel and Mary PavaoViveiros. In addition to his wife he leaves a daughter, Sandra Rosario, and her husband, Raymond, of Somerset and a son, Gary Viveiros, and his wife, Mary-Beth, of Tiverton. He is survived by four siblings, Steve Viveiros of Westport, Ralph Viveiros of Swansea, Linda Silva of Bristol and Alda Silva of Fall River. He was the grandfather of four cherished granddaughters, Kaitlyn McKenna, Amanda Viveiros, Samantha Rosario and Melanie Viveiros. He loved his granddaughters dearly and thoughts of them always brought a smile to his face. Mr. Viveiros was confined to a wheelchair since 1983 from which he led a full and active life. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Fr. Boehr Council, 4753, Tiverton, since 1971, and held positions as President of the Home Corp, Bar Manger and directed the council's fraternal activities. He loved attending bingo every Monday night where he oversaw 226 ticket sales. He was an avid card player and loved to win, which he very often did. He loved his garden and his tomato plants. For 20 years, he coached minor league baseball at Maplewood Park in Fall River where he led many teams to championships. He loved the Boston Red Sox, Boston Bruins and NE Patriots. Prior to his early retirement, he worked as a machine operator for 28 years with the Anderson Little Company. His family and his home were his life and he will be sadly missed by all who knew him. His funeral will be held Wednesday at 9:00 AM from the AUCLAIR FUNERAL HOME, 690 So. Main St., Fall River, with a funeral mass in St. Theresa Church, Tiverton, at 10:00 AM. Burial, Notre Dame Cemetery. Visitation, Tuesday 4:00 to 8:00 PM. LARGE PARKING AREA and BARRIER-FREE ENTRANCE at the rear of funeral home.
