Daniel R. Lussier

Daniel Robert Lussier, age 66, a life-long resident of Fall River, passed away after a long battle with cancer on Tuesday, May 29, 2018, at home, with his wife by his side.

Dan was born on January 29, 1952 to the late Laurent "Larry" Lussier and Pauline "Polly" (Tremblay) Lussier. On June 15, 1974, Dan married his neighborhood friend, Melanie (Gagne) Lussier. Besides his wife, survivors include his 3 children: Nicole Pauline (Louis) Pimentel of Fall River, Daniel Robert (Ashley) Lussier II of Lodi, CA and Jennifer Melanie (Sean) Jusseaume of No. Dighton, a brother: Paul L. (Marylou) Lussier of Fall River, 6 grandchildren: Colby & Ariel Pimentel, Alyssa, Daniel III, and Brady Lussier, and Jolie Jusseaume, 3 godchildren: Aimee (Lussier) Darosa, Paul "Buster" Lussier and Amanda Sylvia, along with several aunts and uncles and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Dan graduated from Bishop Connolly High School in 1970 and BCC in 1994 with a degree in Law Enforcement. In January 1976, he began employment working for the Massachusetts Department of Corrections at Walpole State Prison. After 32 years of service, Lt. Lussier retired from MA DOC at Massachusetts Treatment Center in 2008. Dan continued his contacts with his DOC "brothers" through many breakfast gatherings, visits and telephone calls. He always loved talking and reminiscing with them about times spent together.

Dan truly enjoyed life through simple pleasures: spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren (who he continuously played practical jokes on). He loved having fun, cooking, dining out, food TV shows and mainly food in general. Traveling by jet, ship, or car to any destination (especially visiting his family in California) with his wife by his side was always a favorite pastime.
Dan will be sadly missed by those who knew him. Family, friends and others whose lives were touched by him are invited to the Auclair Funeral Home, 690 S. Main St., Fall River for visitation on Friday, June 15, 2018, from 4:00 - 8:00 P.M. to reminisce, grieve, laugh, support each other or just chat. His funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 16, 2018 at 11:00 A.M at Auclair Funeral Home.
