Cynthia M. Janson

Cynthia M. (Alves) Janson, 52 of Swansea, wife of Mark G. Janson and daughter of Pauline (Desruisseaux) Alves Barboza of Fall River and the late Charles W. Alves, died Tuesday, May 12, 2015. Besides her husband of 30 years and mother, she leaves, two children, Ian Janson of Fall River and Jacob Janson of Boston, siblings, Robert Alves of Dartmouth, Charlene Gammiero of Churchville, NY, Sandra Langlois of Westport and Julie Ann Goyette of Fall River and nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Steven Alves. Cindy graduated from Bristol Community College 1982, and was hired as a clerk/typist that same year. She quickly earned promotions eventually becoming Executive Assistant to the Vice President. She was known for her quick wit and sense of humor and for her outstanding clerical and writing skills. Cindy was recognized for her creativity and computer skills when she developed a form for faculty evaluations that was used statewide. She enjoyed cross stitch embroidery, was an avid reader, enjoyed crossword puzzles and baking. Her funeral service will be held Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at the AUCLAIR FUNERAL HOME, 690 So. Main St., Fall River. Burial, Vinnicum Woods Cemetery, Swansea. Visitation, Friday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. LARGE PARKING AREA & BARRIER-FREE ENTRANCE at the rear of funeral home.
