Cora (Poirier) Borges, 91, of The Inn at Clifton, Wilbur Ave., Somerset, formerly of Ashley St. and Martha St., Fall River, died Monday, July 6, 2009. She was the widow of Antone "Tony" Borges, to whom she had been married for 68 years.
The daughter of the late Albert and Arselie (Bedard) Poirier and the sister of the late Albert Poirier, she was the beloved mother of Carolyn Brum and her husband Joseph of Tiverton; the grandmother of Jason Brum and his wife Maura of Fairfield, CT and Evan Brum and Aaron Brum, both of Manhattan, NY; the great-grandmother of May, Luke and Owen Brum; the sister-in-law of Lucille Poirier and Melanie Messina, both of New Jersey and the aunt of Susan Cavalo, Jackie Poirier and the great aunt of Alexandra, Nichole, Erica, Max and Jayden.
A graduate of Dominican Academy and Thibodeau Business College, she was employed by Ideal Bias Binding for 35 years. She enjoyed reading, knitting, gardening and bingo and cherished time with her family.
Her funeral will be held Friday at 9:00 AM from the AUCLAIR FUNERAL HOME, 690 So. Main St., Fall River, with a funeral mass in St. Anne Church at 10:00 AM. Burial, Notre Dame Cemetery.
