Constance L. (Bellenoit) Gauthier

Constance L. Gauthier, 93, passed away December 6, 2022 in Charleston, South Carolina.

Born January 13, 1929 in New Bedford, Massachusetts, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Lauraine (Gaudreau) Bellenoit and the wife of the late Henry C. Gauthier.

She graduated from Jesus Mary Academy in 1946 with a scholarship to Rivier College in Nashua, NH. After attending for one year, she left to marry and start a family. She went back to college and earned her BA in English from the University of Massachusetts in Dartmouth in 1990.

She was a member of the Allegro Glee Club and the Civic Music Association. She is survived by her sons Marc Gauthier of Bristol, RI and David Gauthier of Somerset, MA; and daughter, Julie (Gauthier) Bercik of Johns Island, SC.

She was the mother of the late Robert Gauthier of Hesperia, CA. She was also the proud grandmother of 15 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. She will be most remembered for being a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother, her love for reading, crossword puzzles and Scrabble.

A memorial mass will be held on Monday, February 27, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Thomas More church in Somerset, Massachusetts.
