Colette (Nadeau) Couture

Colette (Nadeau) Couture, 87, of Fall River, widow of Roswell Couture, died Sunday, August 3, 2014. A member of BMC Durfee High School Class of 1945, she was employed by the former Mitchell's Pharmacy and the Fall River Housing Authority and was involved with tenant services for the elderly and the Fall River Council on Aging. A well known local singer and entertainer, she was "Mrs. Santa Claus" in parades and active in political campaigns. She enjoyed bowling, bingo and Foxwoods. She leaves two sons, Dominique R. Couture and his wife Susan of Portsmouth, RI and George G. Couture and his wife Paulette of Swansea; grandchildren, Mathieu Couture and his wife Audra, and Gregory, Stephen and Rachel Couture; great-grandchildren Kylee Couture and Beckett Sunderland-Couture and nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Roswell "Russ" Couture; the sister of the late Jeanne Chabot Boswell and Theresa "Tess" McCullough and the beloved friend of the late Bernard Sullivan. Her funeral will be held Thursday at 8:00 AM from the AUCLAIR FUNERAL HOME, 690 So. Main St., Fall River, with a funeral mass at St. Bernadette Church at 9:00 AM. Burial, Notre Dame Cemetery. Visitation, Wednesday 4:00 to 8:00 PM. LARGE PARKING AREA and BARRIER-FREE ENTRANCE at the rear of funeral home.
