Claude Andre Giroux passed away on November 18, 2022 at age 75 in Peabody, MA.

Born on January 1, 1947, in Fall River, MA, Claude resided in Taunton, MA.
Claude is the son of Paul Aime and Jeannine Murielle [Ledoux] Giroux of Fall River, MA, who predeceased him in 2017 and 2010. He is survived by his brother, Bernard P. Giroux of Dartmouth, MA; a daughter, Cena Thibodeau, of Bangor,Maine; a son, Andrew Giroux and his wife, Lynore, of Brookline, NH; a daughter, Nicole Giroux, of Taunton, MA; six grandchildren, Morgan and McKennaThibodeau of Bangor, ME, Rhiley Diatchenko and Vada Elliott of Taunton, MA and Michael and Netta Giroux of Brookline, NH; a great grandson, Collin Kreisher of Bangor, ME; former spouse, Patricia Giroux of Easton, MA and her two sons Sean and Patrick Giroux.
Claude was a 1964 graduate of Msgr. Prevost High School, Fall River, MA. His baccalaureate degree was earned in 1968 from St. Anselm College, Manchester, NH. A prolific and skilled writer, Claude was awarded a full scholarship from the Columbia School of Journalism while at St. Anselm. His career spanned many assignments, and he was a resident of Maine for a period. Claude entered the real estate business in Taunton, MA, where he established himself as a well-known real estate appraiser. Taught the appraisal business by his father, Paul A. Giroux, ASA, SRA, Claude was designated by the Appraisal Institute as an SRA and by the Massachusetts Board of Real Estate Appraisers as an MRA. He was a well-respected member of the profession in both Massachusetts and Rhode Island. His expertise was sought by many cities and towns, financial institutions, attorneys, and private clientele.
Claude was a family man first and foremost. A caring, involved individual, he had an extended family surrounding him for many years, where he acted as a coach for softball, basketball, and baseball. He was a Sunday School teacher, and participated in many other community activities.

When he was younger, he served as a camp counselor at the former YMCA Camp Jennings in Westport, MA.
Claude was a musician who loved playing guitar and writing his own songs. He enjoyed camping in Maine and fishing. He was much-loved and will be missed by all.

A wake will be held on Tuesday, November 22, 2022 from 4PM to 7PM at
Auclair Funeral Home in Fall River, MA.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 23, 2022 at 10AM at
Auclair Funeral Home in Fall River, MA.  Graveside Committal service following at Notre Dame Cemetery.
